You may see this warning message when trying to download our installer: DelimitSetup.exe, when using Microsoft Edge or some other browser. This is because we have recently updated our software with a new release and with it also our DelimitSetup.exe installer. Meaning, DelimitSetup.exe is relatively new and has not yet been downloaded often enough to prevent this message from showing. MS Edge and MS Defender SmartScreen, by default, block such new downloads and the execution of such downloads, hence the warning message. To circumvent this you can do the following:
- Move your mouse over the message to expose the option buttons (a trashcan and a tree-dot button), click on the three-dot button to show a drop-down menu:
- Click on "Keep"
- MS Edge and MS SmartScreen will likely show another warning, again because the file is new and not commonly downloaded:
- Notice the Publisher info, which is us. Click on "Show more" and then on "Keep anyway":
- Now you can click on the downloaded file to run the installer:
- After clicking on DelimitSetup.exe, you may get another warning:
- Click on "More info", notice again the Publisher info, which is us:
- Click on "Run anyway".
MS Edge and MS Defender SmartScreen have been designed to discourage downloading of uncommon files. This is understandable for malicious files but not for files that are blocked just because they are new. As more people download our installer, this message should faze out. But we will have a new release in the future and this may start all over again. We are looking into how to address this long term. Thank you for your understanding.
